Leh, being situated in the Himalayan range, merely gets any rain from the southern monsoon winds and the region receives the cold winds from the central Asia. These geographical condition makes the region a cold desert and hence leading to adaptations in camels. The project involved molecular techniques for nucleic acid and protein isolation from PBMCs of camel from Leh and lately compare it with that of the dessert camels.

MOLECULAR TECHNIQUES USED IN CHARACTERIZATION OF SOIL MICROBES AND THEIR GENOMIC DNA ISOLATION
Leh, being situated in the Himalayan range, merely gets any rain from the southern monsoon winds and the region receives the cold winds from the central Asia. These geographical condition makes the region a cold desert and hence limiting the agricultural land availability. The soils from the different agricultural fields are hence being studied with a future prospect of better productivity from the agricultural lands. We have studied the physico-chemical properties of the soil samples. From the information we have gathered from the above studies, the soil available are alkaline. The pH of all the soil samples were above the optimum range required for the cultivation of wheat. As they are alkaline they are also low in the nutrients for optimum plant growth. These factors all together contribute to the reduction in the productivity. However, the soil is rich in organic matter which is beneficial to the crops. The richness in organic content also means that the soil has a decent water holding capacity. These factors contribute to the soil productivity. Further the soil microorganisms has been studied in order to determine its health and quality. This study is still going on. Till date we have estimated the CFU which lies in the optimum range for all the soil samples. The samples are abundant in bacillus which is common for all the soil samples. The unique colonies have been isolated and their DNA needs to be further studied for their identification. In the future, the identified microorganisms will be further studied in order to know its contribution to the soil quality and hence productivity. Only after the complete study we will be to analyze the soil properly and use this information to improve their productivity.

cytotoxic effect of the sea buckthorn juice toward HT-22 hippocampal cells
Major project
This is one of the few studies exploring the phytochemical and therapeutic properties of Sea buckthorn pulped juice. Not much efforts have been vested in exploring the fermentation potential of the juice by probiotic bacteria and compare the changes pre- and post-fermentation. Based on results it can be proposed that fermentation of sea buckthorn juice is a strategy that may be explored with a range of probiotic bacteria. This will pave the way to develop non-dairy nutraceutical beverage that may be explored for its antimicrobial properties against a range of bacteria that may develop resistance due to MDR.
Results also showed no significant change in the phytochemicals viz. phenolic and flavonoid suggesting insignificant effect on the phytochemical profile of juice pre- and post-fermentation. The results paved the way for exploring sea buckthorn as a potential non-dairy product that may be fermented to develop an alternative vehicle for delivery of probiotics in human gut
The change in antioxidant activity is not a favorable outcome. However, the response with other probiotic bacteria may vary.
The juice showed inhibition towards HT-22 hippocampal cells suggesting its cytotoxicity toward cancerous cell lines. The study may be further elucidated to find the mechanism of cytotoxicity and its validation for proposing its anticancer properties.

Amigo wallet web application is a training project at Infosys Ltd. which is a payment web application. The application had several functionalities, add money to wallet/bank, send money to wallet/bank, pay bills, and view transactions to name a few. The project was built on Angular platform and used Spring and Spring boot framework as the backend. The database was built on Oracle server database. The complete project was build from a scratch.
